Snapshot

Egypt's digital banking market is early. As of 19 June 2026 the Central Bank of Egypt has approved onebank, the country's first fully digital bank, built by Misr Digital Innovation, under the digital bank framework set out in the 2020 banking law. Most fully online business accounts are still offered through the digital channels of established banks, and InstaPay runs instant transfers across banks. International providers serve Egyptian users in limited ways, so verify availability for a registered Egyptian company before relying on any online option.

Egypt's neobank market is still forming. As of 19 June 2026 the Central Bank of Egypt has approved onebank, the country's first fully digital bank, developed by Misr Digital Innovation under the digital bank rules that grew out of the 2020 banking law, with a focus on financial inclusion. Most fully online business accounts today are the digital channels of established banks such as Commercial International Bank, Banque Misr, and the National Bank of Egypt, and InstaPay handles instant transfers between banks. International account providers serve Egyptian users in limited ways, so confirm whether a given provider opens an account for a registered Egyptian company before you rely on it.

Digital banks and the framework

Egypt set the legal basis for digital banks in the Central Bank and Banking Sector Law of 2020, and the Central Bank of Egypt published licensing rules for digital banks in 2023. As of 19 June 2026 the Central Bank of Egypt has granted onebank, developed by Misr Digital Innovation, approval to operate as the country's first fully digital bank, with a stated focus on financial inclusion. Confirm directly with a provider whether its accounts are open to businesses, since early digital bank launches often start with retail customers. Verify with the provider

Online accounts from established banks

Today most fully online business banking in Egypt runs through the digital channels of established banks such as Commercial International Bank, Banque Misr, and the National Bank of Egypt. As of 19 June 2026 these let a company manage an account online once it is opened, though the opening itself generally still involves the document and Know Your Customer steps described on the how to open page. InstaPay, the application on the Central Bank of Egypt Instant Payment Network, moves money between banks at any hour.

International providers and the limits

International account providers serve Egyptian users in limited ways rather than as a full local corporate account. As of 19 June 2026 Payoneer is available in Egypt to receive cross border payments from clients and marketplaces and to withdraw to a local bank, which suits exporters and freelancers, but it does not replace a domestic business account. Other multi currency providers may give account details in some currencies while not offering local features such as a card to Egypt based customers. Confirm eligibility for a registered Egyptian company with each provider before relying on it.

We do not list a business account that is confirmed available to companies registered in Egypt as of 19 June 2026. Egyptian banks such as Banque Misr, the National Bank of Egypt, and Commercial International Bank set their own onboarding requirements under Central Bank of Egypt rules, and most international account providers do not offer a full local corporate account to Egypt registered companies. Payoneer is available in Egypt for receiving cross border payments and withdrawing to a local bank, but it is not a replacement for a domestic business account. See the related guides below, and verify any option directly with the provider. More country detail is on the Egypt country guide.
