How we rate and research

General information, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Verify current terms and eligibility with the provider before applying.

We build every page from official sources first, date every claim, and review every page. Our provider scores are an editorial rating by our two named cofounders, not user reviews and not advice.

How we research

We start from official sources: a provider price list, an eligibility page, or regulator guidance, and we support those with reputable references. We do not copy spec sheets without checking them. Where two sources disagree, or a position is genuinely unclear, we say so and ask you to confirm with the provider rather than guess.

How we date and review pages

Every fee and feature claim carries an as of date that shows when we last confirmed it. Every page carries a last reviewed date. When a provider changes a fee or an eligibility rule, we update the page and refresh the reviewed date.

How we rate providers

The scores you see, such as the highest rated accounts on the home page, are an editorial rating from 1 to 5 set by our two cofounders. They reflect our reading of the public terms, not a survey of customers. We weigh the following, with availability and transparency mattering most because they protect the reader:

  • Availability and eligibility, including which businesses and which countries a provider genuinely serves.
  • Cost, including monthly fees, transaction and currency fees, and minimums.
  • Features that matter to businesses, such as multi currency accounts, payments, and integrations.
  • Transparency, meaning how clear and complete the published fees and rules are.
  • The account opening experience, including documents required and typical timelines.

A score is our opinion as named editors, formed from the evidence above on the dates shown. It is not a recommendation tailored to your situation, and it is not financial advice. Confirm current terms with the provider before you apply.

Independence and how we make money

We are not affiliated with any bank. Some links to providers may earn us a commission at no cost to you. Commission never changes a score or how we describe a provider, and we only show a compare link where the provider serves that market. We never present a paid placement as an editorial pick, and sponsored placements are labelled.

Corrections

If you believe something is wrong, use the contact form and name the page and the detail. We check reports against official sources and update the page with a fresh reviewed date. More detail is in our editorial standards.
