How business account fees work in Indonesia
There are three cost patterns to watch. The first is the flat monthly administration fee that most local bank accounts carry. The second is a minimum balance condition, where some accounts waive the fee or apply a charge depending on the balance held. The third is the per use cost of running the account, such as local and international transfers, currency conversion, and cards. A low monthly fee can still be expensive if your transfers or conversions are costly.
The local banks
As of 26 April 2026, reporting on Indonesian bank administration fees indicates that monthly charges on common accounts run from a few thousand rupiah to several tens of thousands of rupiah, depending on the bank and product. Reported figures include around IDR 12,500 a month on a Mandiri business savings product, IDR 5,000 to 12,000 on BNI Taplus Bisnis by tier, and a BRI Giro that waives the monthly fee when the balance stays above IDR 10 million and otherwise charges about IDR 31,000 a month. Corporate giro and PT accounts can differ from these published savings tariffs, so treat them as a guide and confirm the exact corporate schedule with the bank.
The international accounts
International accounts compete on no monthly fee entry. As of 26 April 2026 Airwallex states there is no account opening fee, no monthly maintenance fee, and no minimum transaction requirement on its rupiah business account, and Payoneer typically has no monthly subscription. With these you still pay for transactions and currency conversion, so the real cost depends on how you use the account. Confirm the current pricing with the provider.
Transaction and conversion fees
Beyond the monthly fee, the running cost includes transfers, currency conversion, and cards. As of 26 April 2026 Payoneer for example charges around 1 percent on receiving a direct transfer to an account and a withdrawal fee to a local bank, with cross currency withdrawals carrying a margin above the mid market rate, while local banks charge per transfer and for some services. Read each fee schedule and confirm the current figures with the provider.
