General information, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Verify current terms and eligibility with the provider before applying.

As of 1 March 2026, Mercury is available to founders based in Brazil, but only for a business registered in the United States. Mercury provides banking services for United States companies through partner banks, and Brazil is not on its list of prohibited countries, so a Brazilian founder with a United States company can apply. A company that exists only in Brazil cannot open Mercury, and the account works in United States dollars rather than Brazilian real.

Does Mercury serve business customers in Brazil?

Yes, with limits. Mercury offers business banking, provided through partner banks, to companies formed in the United States, and it is widely used by startups and online businesses. It accepts founders from many countries and lists separately the countries it cannot serve. Brazil is not on that prohibited list, so a Brazilian entrepreneur who has formed a United States company can apply. Mercury does not open accounts for a business that exists only in Brazil, and it does not provide a Brazilian real account. As of 1 March 2026.

Eligibility for businesses in Brazil

You need a business that is formed and registered in the United States, such as a limited liability company or a corporation, and the founders must not live in a country that Mercury cannot serve. Brazil is not on that restricted list, so a Brazilian founder is generally eligible when the business itself is a United States entity. There is no route to Mercury for a company registered only in Brazil. Verify with the provider

What it costs locally

Mercury does not publish separate Brazil pricing because the account is a United States product. The standard business account has no monthly fee and no minimum balance, with paid features available, all in United States dollars. Balances are held in United States dollars, and the Brazilian real and local Brazil account details are not supported. As of 1 March 2026

What local users report

Brazilian founders who run United States companies report using Mercury to hold United States dollars, receive payments from United States customers, and manage startup finances remotely. Those who only have a Brazilian company cannot onboard. As of 1 March 2026, confirm the current country rules and requirements with the provider.
