N26 is a Berlin based bank, N26 SE, with a mobile first account aimed at the self employed. The business range comes in four plans: Business Standard at EUR 0, Business Smart at EUR 4.90, Business Go at EUR 9.90 and Business Metal at EUR 16.90 a month, all as of 16 June 2026. Every plan gives a German IBAN, a Mastercard, cashback on card spending and deposit protection up to EUR 100,000. Accounts are opened in your legal name, so a registered company such as a GmbH cannot be the account holder.

Overview

N26 offers a single euro business account for people who are self employed. The four plans differ mainly by card type, savings rate, travel perks and cashback rather than by core banking. Business Standard is free and includes a virtual debit card, 0.1 percent cashback on card payments and two free euro ATM withdrawals a month. Paid plans add a physical card, more sub accounts, higher cashback and travel cover. Figures shown as of 16 June 2026.

Strengths

A genuinely free standard plan, cashback on all card spending, no N26 foreign transaction fee on worldwide card payments, fast app based opening, a German banking licence and deposit protection up to EUR 100,000.

Limitations

Only the self employed can open, and the account is held in your legal name, so a GmbH or UG cannot be the holder. It is a single euro account rather than a true multi currency account, cash handling is limited, and paid plans require a 12 month commitment.
