General information, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Verify current terms and eligibility with the provider before applying.

As of 17 February 2026, Airwallex does not yet serve business customers registered in the United Arab Emirates. Airwallex announced approval in principle for Stored Value Facilities and Retail Payment Services licences from the Central Bank of the UAE in 2025 and is working to operationalise a local entity, but account opening is still limited to its existing list of supported markets. A business registered in the United Arab Emirates cannot open an Airwallex account at this time, so the alternatives below point to providers that do serve the market today.

Does Airwallex serve business customers in the United Arab Emirates?

Not yet. Airwallex is a global financial platform that onboards businesses registered in a defined list of supported countries, such as Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the United States and several others. In September 2025 Airwallex announced that it had secured approval in principle for payments licences from the Central Bank of the UAE and set up a new entity in Saudi Arabia, and said the work to operationalise its United Arab Emirates entity would now accelerate. An approval in principle is a step toward a licence rather than a live service, so a business registered in the United Arab Emirates cannot open an Airwallex account at this time. As of 17 February 2026.

Eligibility for businesses in the United Arab Emirates

Because Airwallex onboards only businesses registered in its supported markets, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates does not currently meet the eligibility to open an account. A group with an entity in a supported market, for example an Australian, Singapore or United Kingdom company, could open an Airwallex account through that entity, but that is an account for the supported market rather than a United Arab Emirates account. This position may change once the United Arab Emirates entity goes live. Verify with the provider

What it costs locally

There is no published United Arab Emirates pricing because the account is not offered to United Arab Emirates businesses yet. Airwallex pricing in its live markets typically combines free account opening with percentage based foreign exchange and card fees that vary by market and plan, and the dirham is supported on some transfer routes for businesses in those markets. Local United Arab Emirates fees would only be confirmed once Airwallex launches there. As of 17 February 2026

What local users report

There is no established base of United Arab Emirates business account holders, since local onboarding has not opened. Businesses in the United Arab Emirates that want multi currency accounts and global transfers today generally use local banks and cross border providers that already operate in the market. Watch for an Airwallex launch announcement once the entity is operational, and confirm the position before relying on it. As of 17 February 2026.

Airwallex does not yet serve business customers registered in the United Arab Emirates as of 17 February 2026, although it holds approval in principle and is preparing to launch. Verify directly with the provider. Providers confirmed available in the United Arab Emirates are listed on the United Arab Emirates country guide.
